Record

Every shift logged digitally and reported to you.

We cover residential and commercial builds, civil works and fit-outs in the CBD and inner city, the Eagle Farm and airport precinct, the northside, the southside and the growth corridors, with the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast served from the same operation.

The work is after-hours guarding of the site, gate and access control during the day where the contract calls for it, patrols between visits, and an incident record that holds up with the builder's insurer and the police.

What's included

What our construction site security in Brisbane includes

  1. 01

    After-hours static guarding

A licensed officer on site from the last trade leaving to the first arriving, posted where the tools, materials and plant are. Uniformed, in hi-vis over the vest, visible from the street.

  2. 02

    Gate and access control

Sign-in of workers, subcontractors, deliveries and visitors against the builder's induction list. Nobody unlisted passes the gate, and every movement is recorded.

  3. 03

    Mobile patrols between shifts

Random timestamped visits through the night for sites that do not justify a fixed post every night, or as a supplement to one. See mobile patrols.

  4. 04

    Theft and vandalism prevention

Tools, copper, materials and plant are the targets; the officer's presence, the patrol pattern and the lighting checks are the deterrent. Anything missing or damaged is recorded and reported the same shift.

  5. 05

    Perimeter and fencing checks

Temporary fencing, gates, hoardings and lighting checked on every round, with breaches photographed and reported for repair.

  6. 06

    Incident evidence

Time-stamped entries, photographs and the officer's account for every incident, in a format your insurer and the police can use. Body-worn cameras where the builder requests them.

  7. 07

    Plant and delivery supervision

Overseeing after-hours deliveries, crane and plant movements, and out-of-hours works so the site is not left open when the trade leaves.

  8. 08

    Site induction and WHS

Officers complete the builder's site induction, wear the PPE the site requires and work within the WHS plan. Emergency procedures are briefed before the first shift.

Where we work in Brisbane

Construction sites move, and so does the roster. Officers are assigned by precinct so a builder with two sites in the same corridor can be covered by one team. Current areas:

  1. Brisbane CBD and inner city

Tower fit-outs, podium works and refurbishments with laneway access and after-hours deliveries.

  2. Fortitude Valley, Newstead and Bowen Hills

Mixed-use developments and apartment builds in a precinct that is busy late.

  3. Eagle Farm, Hamilton and the airport precinct

Our base. Industrial builds, logistics sheds and infrastructure works.

  4. Northside growth corridor

Chermside to North Lakes and Strathpine: residential estates, schools and retail builds.

  5. Southside and the Logan corridor

Mount Gravatt, Rocklea, Yatala and the industrial estates along the motorway.

  6. Western suburbs

Toowong, Indooroopilly and the Ipswich corridor: residential and commercial works.

What you can verify

Licensing and insurance

A guard on a construction site is doing licensed work under Queensland law, and a builder's principal contractor obligations extend to who is on site after hours. Every officer we place holds a Class 1 licence in their own name and completes the site's induction.

Per officer, before a first shift

  • Class 1 licence sighted and recorded
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Police history check as required by the licence
  • Site induction signed off by the supervisor
  • Licence expiry tracked centrally: nobody is rostered on an expired ticket
  • Names and licence numbers of the officers proposed are in every quote

Elite Squad Security operates as a licensed security firm, and every officer we deploy holds a current Class 1 licence issued by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading. Any licence can be checked on the public register before an officer starts.

What sets the price

How much does construction site security cost in Brisbane

Site security is priced per officer per hour for guarding and per visit for patrols, with the factors below setting the rate. We quote in writing against the build programme, and the quote changes when the programme does.

Get a written quote

Send the site address, the programme and the hours you need covered through the quote form. If cover follows an incident, say so; the proposal will address the gap.

  • Hours

Nights, weekends and public holidays carry the award penalties the officer is entitled to. A site closed for the Christmas shutdown is a different roster from term-time.

  • Guarding or patrols

A fixed post every night costs more than random patrols; the right mix depends on what is on site and how exposed it is.

  • Site size and layout

One gate and a compact footprint is one officer; a long civil site or a multi-stage estate may need two or a vehicle.

  • Stage of the build

Risk rises when fit-out materials, copper and appliances arrive. Many builders increase cover for those weeks and step it back afterwards.

  • Programme length

A standing contract for the life of the build is priced differently from a fortnight of cover after an incident.

  • Equipment

Radios, torches, body-worn cameras where requested and the digital logging platform: included on standing contracts, itemised on short ones.

Three things you can verify

Why Elite Squad

  1. 01

    Licences you can check

Every officer holds a Queensland Class 1 licence. We give you the names; you look each one up on the OFT register before they start.

  2. 02

A written record of every shift

Every post and patrol is logged in Boomerang, our own reporting app: timestamped check-ins, incident entries and photographs. You receive the report, not a verbal summary.

  3. 03

The same officers on the same site

Rosters are built so a site sees the same faces. Officers who know the tenants, the layout and the regulars resolve more and escalate less.

After a theft, the first question from the insurer is what was in place and what was recorded. Our log answers both.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a guard every night or will patrols do?

It depends on what is on site, how exposed it is and the incident history in the area. Bare structure and civil works often suit patrols; fit-out stages with materials and appliances on site usually justify a fixed post. We walk the site and recommend a mix, and change it as the build progresses.

Are your site security officers licensed in Queensland?

Yes. Every officer holds a current Class 1 licence issued by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading and the company holds a firm licence. Licence details are in the proposal and can be checked on the OFT public register. Officers also complete your site induction before the first shift.

Can you start this week?

Often, yes, particularly after an incident. It depends on the roster and completing your site induction. Put the start date on the quote form and we will confirm what is possible before you commit.

What happens if there is a break-in while your officer is on site?

The officer follows the escalation protocol agreed with the builder: observe, secure themselves, call police where warranted, record everything with time, photographs and their account. You receive the report the same shift, in a form your insurer can use.

Do your officers control the gate during the day?

Yes, where the contract includes it. Officers check workers, subcontractors, deliveries and visitors against the builder's induction list, record every movement and hold the gate closed between them.

Do you cover sites on the Gold Coast?

Yes. Gold Coast sites are covered by the coast-based team from the same operation, with the same licensing and reporting. Details are on the security guards Gold Coast page.
