What a guarded shift looks like

The officer arrives before the post opens, logs on digitally at the site, and reads the handover from the previous shift.

Site orders set where they stand, what they check and who they call. During the shift they hold the post or walk the pattern, deal with what comes up under the client's policy and Queensland law, and enter every incident at the time it happens: location, observation, action, people involved, outcome.

At the end of the shift the log closes with a written handover. The supervisor reads it against the site orders, follows up anything open, and the client receives the report on the schedule they have chosen. A site that has held the same officers for months has a log that reads like a history of the building, which is what makes the roster and the advice we give evidence-based rather than reactive.

What sets the price

How much do security guards cost in Brisbane

Guarding is priced per officer per hour, and the hourly rate moves with the factors below. We quote in writing against your roster so the number you sign is the number you are invoiced. No security company in Brisbane that we compete with publishes a rate card, and neither do we; what we do publish is what sets the price.

    A concierge post and a loss-prevention post are both Class 1 work, but experience, presentation and any additional training change the rate.

  • Single site or portfolio

    Multi-site contracts share supervision and reporting overheads, which brings the per-hour figure down.

  • Notice

    A roster agreed a week ahead is priced differently from cover needed tonight. Both are available.

  • Equipment and reporting

    Radios, body-worn cameras and the digital logging platform are included on standing contracts and itemised on short ones.

Are your security guards licensed in Queensland?

Yes. Every officer holds a current Class 1 security licence issued by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading, and the company holds a security firm licence. You can check any licence on the OFT public register before an officer starts, and we provide the names and numbers in the proposal.

How many guards do I need for my site?

It depends on the number of entry points, trading hours, the layout and the incident history. A single-entry store may need one officer; a multi-level centre with a car park may need several across a shift. We walk the site with you before quoting and put the reasoning in writing.

Can you start this week?

Often, yes. It depends on the roster, the site induction and whether the post needs specific experience. Tell us the start date you need on the quote form and we will confirm what is possible before you commit to anything.

Do you cover the Gold Coast as well as Brisbane?

What is the minimum shift?

Minimum shift lengths follow the security industry award, which sets a floor for a single engagement. Short shifts carry a higher hourly rate because travel and briefing are fixed. The minimum for your post is stated in the written quote.

Do your guards carry body-worn cameras?

Body-worn cameras are available and used where the client requests them and the site's signage and privacy obligations allow. Footage is handled under a written procedure. Whether cameras are used or not, every incident is logged digitally with time, action and outcome.
