A patrol is a licensed officer in an unmarked or marked vehicle visiting your site on a random or scheduled pattern, checking the perimeter, the doors and the alarms, and logging each visit with a timestamp, a location and a note you can read the next morning.

    Visits at irregular times through the night so nobody watching the site can predict the gap. The pattern is set with you and varied by the officer.

    Fixed-time checks where the risk is at a known hour: after the last tenant leaves, before the first delivery, at the change of a car-park session.

    Alarm response

    Attendance when your monitored alarm activates: perimeter check, entry with your keys and codes if authorised, reset, and a report of what was found. Police are called when the situation requires it.

    Roller doors, gates, alarm arming and disarming, lighting and back-of-house checked and recorded at the start and end of trade. Keys are held under a signed register.

    Doors, windows, fences, loading docks, plant rooms and car parks walked and checked on every visit, with faults such as a failed light or an open gate logged and reported.

    Timestamped digital logging

    Each visit is recorded on arrival and departure with the time, the site and a note. You receive the log, not a promise that someone drove past.

    Escalation to a fixed post

    If a site's pattern changes, patrols are supplemented with a static guard for the nights it takes, then stepped back down. The report shows why.

    Contractor and after-hours access

    Letting authorised tradespeople and cleaners in and out under your written instructions, with each movement recorded.

Where we patrol in Brisbane

Patrol runs are built by precinct so a vehicle is never far from the sites on its list. A site is added to the run closest to it, and the run is adjusted as sites come and go. Current runs:

    Chermside, Virginia, Geebung and the Strathpine corridor: retail, industrial and medical sites.

  5. Southside

    Mount Gravatt, Rocklea, Archerfield and the Logan corridor: warehouses, retail centres and yards.

  6. Western suburbs

    Milton, Toowong and the Indooroopilly corridor: commercial buildings and retail.

Mobile patrols on the Gold Coast

The same service runs on the Gold Coast from Southport to Coolangatta, with a coast-based vehicle and officers rostered locally.

Runs are built the same way, by precinct, so a client with premises in Robina and Burleigh Heads is on one run and one report.

The Sunshine Coast, from Caloundra to Noosa, is covered from Brisbane on the same basis: a site is added to the nearest run and reported in the same format. What a patrol visit looks like

The officer arrives, logs the visit on the platform with a timestamp, and walks the pattern set in the site orders: perimeter, gates, doors, docks, lighting, plant, car park.

    Anything out of order is photographed and noted.

  2. 02

    If the visit includes an internal check, the officer disarms, walks the interior on the agreed route, re-arms and records the alarm status.

  3. 03

    The visit closes with a second timestamp and the note.

  4. 04

    Faults that need action, such as a failed light, a gate that will not lock or a vehicle that should not be there, are flagged to the client that night or in the morning report depending on the severity the site orders assign to them.

  5. 05

    Over weeks, the visit logs for a site show when it is quiet and when it is not, and the pattern is adjusted on that evidence.

Patrol officers hold the same Class 1 licence as officers on a fixed post, and a patrol officer entering your premises on an alarm is doing licensed work under Queensland law.

What sets the price

How much do mobile patrols cost in Brisbane

Patrols are priced per visit or as a fixed nightly or weekly fee for a site on a run, with alarm response priced per attendance. The factors below set the number. We quote in writing against the pattern you want.

  • Visits per night

    One check after close is priced differently from four random visits through the night.

  • Duration of each visit

    A drive-by check of the perimeter and an internal walk-through with alarm reset are different visits.

  • Days of the week

    Seven-night cover, weeknights only, or weekends and public holidays only: the award applies to the officer either way.

  • Location on the run

    A site close to an existing run costs less to add than one that needs a detour, which is why we roster by precinct.

  • Alarm response

    Priced per attendance, with the report included. Key-holding is included on standing contracts.

  • Number of sites

    A portfolio on one run shares the vehicle and the officer, which lowers the per-site figure.

How do I know the patrol actually happened?

Every visit is logged digitally on arrival and departure with the time, the site and the officer's note, and you receive the log. Where a client wants more, the officer photographs a fixed reference point on each visit. The record is yours to audit.

Do your patrols include alarm response?

Yes. When your monitored alarm activates, the patrol officer attends, checks the perimeter, enters with your keys and codes if you have authorised it, resets the system and reports what was found. Police are called when the situation requires it.

Are patrol officers licensed in Queensland?

Yes. Every patrol officer holds a current Class 1 licence issued by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading, and the company holds a firm licence. Licence details are in the proposal and can be checked on the OFT public register.

Can you patrol on the Gold Coast too?

Yes. A coast-based vehicle covers Southport to Coolangatta with officers rostered locally, and a client with sites in more than one region receives one log in one format. The Sunshine Coast is covered from Brisbane. Fixed posts on the coast are described on the security guards Gold Coast page.

Do you hold keys?

Yes, on standing contracts. Keys and codes are held under a signed register, issued to the officer on the run for the shift and returned at the end of it. Every use is recorded in the visit log.

Can you start this week?

Usually, if the site sits near an existing run and the key handover and site orders can be completed. Put the start date on the quote form and we will confirm what is possible before you commit.
